Big food portions can lead to Obesity?

In nowadays it’s easy for everyone to see that portion sizes are expanding with a rapid pace. Doctors and dietary experts often recommend having an extra awareness for the amount of the food they are eating, which seems to be raised drastically over the last 20 years.

Beginning from the decade of 80’s, sizes of packaged foods started increasing, as it began as an effort by food vendors who seek to gain a greater piece of the market than their competitors. By doing that, they was advertised the concept that it was good for them when with the same amount of money they could buy larger quantities of food. And so consumers, targeting the best for their money, began to combine the money spent in relation to the amount of food and not the quality of this.

Everyday meals of all types have become even bigger and people started having an emphasis on receiving more food for the money they spend. For kids is easy to find larger serving sizes at affordable prices, however the cost they pay with health problems is greater than the majority of parents realize.

Through this entire environment the children are weak to tell the difference of a good quality meals and a meal which is good in price but not with plenty nutrition ingredients. So, following the mindset of the adults, kids began to consume fast, cheap meals in restaurants or even schools, neglecting the homemade food (which unfortunately many times it makes no difference to standard recipes).

Kids often have the habit of frequently eating out, especially at fast-food restaurants which is the place where all the friends meet each other. This type of foods they consume is linked with a rise in energy and fat absorption along with a higher bodyweight gains.

A number of research projects have demonstrated that whenever children are provided with a larger portion in home, school or in prepackaged foods, they were unable to recognize that they were consuming more than they usually did. This was a sign for the researchers to suggest that large portion sizes and childhood obesity have a close relationship and is leading to a problem which leads to problems of whom do not recognize the primary cause.

The important thing to remember in relation to bodyweight control is always that the number of calories that your youngsters may consume should never surpass the number of calories they spend. A good method to keep track of this is by trying to keep a regular log of how much food they consume, its nutrition ingredients and number of daily workout activities.

It is important to underline the fact that number of calories inside a food, rather than just the size of its portion, plays a major role to putting on body-weight from that food or not. Small on the eye food can easily fool the child that they are not bad to consume, however the truth is hidden deep inside them, far away from their innocent eyes.
